summer 2018

Spend Your Summer with Shine!

Shine’s Summer in the City

We at Shine are ready for our Summer in the City (and know many of you are too)! Our teachers will be in town through Labor Day to offer weekly classes, multi-day mini-camps, one time workshops, and parties.
Summer is the perfect time for some structured indoor enrichment: a couple of hours out of the sun, the opportunity to stay connected with old friends, and down time from school to focus on more specialized interests. Or if it’s outside time you want, schedule a class for the park or the pier or a City Adventure.
If you are interested in setting up a class, camp, or workshop this summer in the city, email or call 212.414.5427.

Hamptons Summer Camp 2018

Tuesdays @  LongHouse Reserve
Thursdays @ Bridge Gardens
Fridays @ iconic East End locations*

From Monday, July 2 to Friday, August 31, join founder & director Aaron Goldschmidt and Shine’s Hamptons’ staff (all educators or certified teachers!) as they run the fifth year of their innovative creative arts camp celebrating all things Hamptons! Camp day activities include:

  • outdoor science and exploration
  • summer art and nature projects
  • gardening
  • physical arts, sports, and yoga
  • music and movement
  • Super Soccer Stars
  • weekly visits and private instruction at the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center
Our summer camp is for children ages 4 – 10 years and will be held five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. We will be spending Mondays and Wednesdays using CMEE as our home base.  We  are thrilled to have access to their incredible facility including the playground, mini golf, classrooms, gallery space, amphitheater, and more.  Additionally, we will be having Super Soccer Stars come both days to provide classes for the campers (broken into age groups) in addition to our regular sports classes.  Most exciting, we will be crossing the street to the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center for hands on exploration and education each week.  Private guided walks thought the trails and lessons by their incredible staff will only be part of our experience. We will be at LongHouse Reserve on Tuesdays and Bridge Gardens on Thursdays.
*The full schedule of pop-up locations for Fridays will be available soon. Some locations include: Amber Waves Farm, Wölffer Estate, Historic Sag Harbor and East Hampton, Nova’s Ark, and more. Parents will pick up and drop off at location.
Single week and day rates are available. Contact 212.414.5427 or  to register. Spots are limited and filling up quickly, so register now!

It’s the perfect transition into our full camp experience.

Creative Arts + Tennis Afternoon Camp

Tuesdays, Wednesdays + Thursdays
July 2nd – August 30th
3:45pm – 6:00pm
(snacks and drinks provided)
  • Created specifically for the summer season, this new partnership program combines the worlds of sports and arts and is filled with fun and learning for ages 4 to 12.
  • Under the care and guidance of master children’s coach John Graham, classes are both instructive and more importantly- fun! John’s love of tennis and transmitting that love is at the core of the program. Classes stress the joy of learning as well as create a supportive atmosphere conducive to the world of competitive play. Campers are grouped by age and level of play and rackets are included.
  • Designed and led by Shine and inspired by our summer camp, the creative arts program uses the inspiration of the East End to expose campers to a variety of themes. From the flora and fauna to the abundance of art, architecture, and history, each week will have a different focus and incorporate an array of mediums as well as the opportunity to engage in constructive arts, science and nature exploration, games, and books.
Camp will be held at Hampton Racquet:
