about shine

Shine is a one-stop-shop for urban kids and modern families. We take children’s enrichment classes and birthday parties out of the classroom and make them mobile. Translation: creativity, exploration, and fun come to you (so every child can Shine their light).

Our Philosophy

Shine is for families of all make-ups to learn, play, and party. Our goal is simple: to unlock individuality and potential through exploration, creativity, and acceptance. Based in traditional teaching philosophies, but with a modern understanding of today’s urban child, we believe in inspiring both children and families through experience and community. Within every child is a light. It is our job to help them Shine.

Shine’s Story

Founded by Aaron Goldschmidt in 2004, Shine began as a simple concept: children’s enrichment classes with a creative, modern twist. Along with a handful of educators he met while teaching in both San Francisco and New York, Goldschmidt’s team embarked on this new philosophy of early childhood education offering classes, parties, and events that proved successful – and out of the ordinary – from the start. Seeing a need for flexibility and accessibility in children’s education, Shine went mobile in 2006, bringing innovative and enriched experiences into the homes, buildings, and lives of families all over the New York tri-state area. With the launch of the Shine website and lifestyle blog in 2012, Shine’s creative vision and child-centered philosophies are no longer just word-of-mouth and are now available to everyone.
